Pictured is the existing stairwell with landing taken from the top and bottom. The current treds are two 2x6, risers are pressed board. The task to be completed is as follows:

Install homeowner agreed apon clear wood tread, landing, and top nosing. Painted grade or clear risers, wall string, and landing skirting. Homeowner will remove existing paneling and replace with drywall. No need to provide air return as in the picture.

Homeowner preceeved challenge areas: (1) Using the existing 2x6 treads or not, can't have top and bottom rise different from the rest. (2) Integration of top nose with existing parquet.
