What's a "bach?" As we've come to know it, the bach (pronounced as in "bachelor") has it's orgins in New Zealand and parts of Australia. The best translation to U.S. culture would be "rustic weekend cabin". While our bach has a few more ammenities than are implied with the terms rustic and bach (e.g., electricity, indoor plumbing, and screens), it has become quite the continuing project bringing it back to life after years of neglect.
